City Mayor named CEO of local Big Brothers Big Sisters

It seems that Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris may have to go back to work sooner than he thought. The Daily Progress reports this morning that, though he planned to start work after the November 3 election, Norris will soon begin work as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters‘ local branch.

Previously the executive director of PACEM, an organization that serves the city’s homeless, Norris told the DP he was ready for something new.

The local branch of BBBS recently opened an office in Charlottesville on the Downtown Mall. It serves Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.

Norris and Big Brothers Big Sisters were unavailable for comment.

Norris once ran a youth mentoring program through Madison House, a UVA-based group that works to better the community through volunteering, tutoring and counseling.
