A week ago, it was our coffee. Now it’s our dining scene generally. The Washington Post just can’t seem to get enough of Charlottesville food. Following a lighthearted romp through local coffeeshops, the Post sends reporter Jane Black to deliver the good news about the high quality eats we enjoy around here–from the award-winning baguette at Albemarle Baking Company to the Portuguese cod cake at HotCakes. (She even shouts out to the witty t-shirts worn by line cooks at Mas. Ah, kitchen humor!)

Black nibbles her way through Bang, Hamiltons’, Ten, Rev Soup, Aroma’s Cafe, and Feast!, concluding that "the food here is far better than it should be," considering our relatively modest population. We’ll go ahead and feel proud on behalf of all our distinguished local chefs, even the ones Black doesn’t mention. And we’ll keep our eyes peeled for the next installment of the unofficial "WaPo Loves Charlottesville" series.

Rev Soup and a pack of other local eateries are getting some capital exposure today.
