Suspect at large in city homicide

Charlottesville police are searching for 20-year-old Darryl Andrew Johnson in the killing of Phillip E. Adams, Jr. shortly after midnight on Saturday morning. Adams died from gunshot wounds to the chest. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Pacino’s Deli, where the two men became involved in an altercation.

Adams died from gunshot wounds to the chest. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Pacino’s Deli, where the two men became involved in an altercation. Johnson is said to have fled the scene, 1329 West Main Street, after the shooting.

According to police, three other persons, whose names detectives are withholding, were attending the party on the second floor of Pacino’s and were also injured, but their injuries are not life threatening.

Warrants have been obtained charging Johnson with Murder, Use of a Firearm in the commission of a Murder, Malicious Wounding, and Use of a Firearm in the commission of a Malicious Wounding.
