Around 8pm on July 20, the Charlottesville Police Department made four arrests in connection with the July 19 murder of Joshua Anthony Magruder. The city issued a press release this morning.

The arrests, which were made in conjunction with the Albemarle County Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, were of Theodore Calvin Timberlake, 20; Bobby Wayne Gardner Jr., 25; Trenton Michael Brock, 20; and Rachel Denise Turner, 25. Each has been charged with First Degree Murder and use of a firearm. Gardner has also been charged with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony. Turner is charged as an accessory to the crimes committed by Gardner after knowing he had committed a felony.

Police are still investigating a second July 19 shooting incident in the 900 block of Page Street, according to the press release. Two arrests were made. It remains unclear if anything other than timing connects Magruder’s murder with the Page Street shootings that left one man with chest wounds from which he is expected to recover.
