UVA quarterback Peter Lalilch admitted today in court that he drank alcohol while on probation, but didn’t smoke marijuana.

The Daily Progress reports that Lalich told the court that he drank to celebrate the last day of football camp and that he admitted to his probation officer to have both drank and used marijuana.

Later, though, Lalich realized that he used marijuana before being placed on probation in the summer for drinking under age.

“I made a mistake,” Lalich said in court. “I’m very sorry about it.”

Lalich also told the court he thought he was allowed to drink while on probation, just not get arrested for it.

Perhaps more disturbing for hardcore UVA football fans are the rumors that Lalich, who has the strongest arm of any of Virginia’s quarterbacks, is being kicked off the team.

General District Judge Robert H. Downer Jr. told Lalich he could face a $500 fine or 50 hours of community service if he violated his probation one more time.
