You should go to GreenMatters

Why, you ask? Because, A), passive is the new active, and B), it’s free, not to mention C), it won’t last forever, plus D) all the carbon-neutral kids will be there. GreenMatters is the free green-your-home workshop series hosted by the Habitat Store, itself an essential resource for the reuse/recycle set, and it’s been chugging along for well over a year now. Anyone who’s gone to all the workshops since they began in May 2007 is, at this point, pretty well-versed in the basics of making one’s household a less impactful place.

GreenMatters is the free green-your-home workshop series hosted by the Habitat Store—itself an essential resource for the reuse/recycle set—and it’s been chugging along for well over a year now. It’s attracted crowds eager to soak up knowledge, at no cost, about home energy audits, eco-friendly furniture, tax credits for greener homes, xeriscaping…you get the idea. Anyone who’s gone to all the workshops since they began in May 2007 is, at this point, pretty well-versed in the basics of making one’s household a less impactful place.

Alas, this quite wonderful (and free—did I mention that?) offering is scheduled to end on Earth Day next April. So we’ve got about six months left of what amounts to a no-cost mini-college on green living. Get out there, dudes! Learn about alternative energy and rainwater catchment!

The next one’s coming right up—next Wednesday, October 8, at 6pm. You can show up at 5 for snacks, and you’re officially allowed to hang around after the workshop—7:30 to 8—for schmoozing. It’s the first of a pair of workshops that will cover passive and active solar, as well as other ways to get energy besides burning dead dinosaurs. Second one’s November 12.

Oh yeah, and it’s free.
