BRICK WATCH: Pipeline repairs on Mall may be done by Christmas

It’s Monday. That means yet again, construction workers are ripping up bricks to fix leaking water pipes on the Downtown Mall.

And yet again, construction workers are fixing leaking water pipes on the Downtown Mall.

This time around, they are digging up bricks in front of toy store Alakazam. They’re trying to find the pipe, hook the water line through it and feed it all the way from the holes in front of the C-VILLE office, about three blocks away, to their current position. Watch the video below.

At least four more holes may be needed, but a supervisor says they hope to be done by Christmas, so residents can enjoy a construction-free Mall.

The additional holes, at the west end of the Mall, will be necessary to locate the 2-inch pipe and replace it with a smaller, newer one.

How much are these repairs getting in the way of your shopping trip to the Mall?
