According to local blogger, attorney and former candidate for City Council Jennifer McKeever, the City’s Parks and Recreation Director Mike Svetz has accepted a position for the same department in an Arizona city.
City spokesman Ric Barrick would not comment, saying that the city would release information Monday on Svetz’s employment status.
Svetz’s departure would leave a number of major capital projects up in the air, most notably the controversial "reprogramming" of McIntire Park and a new aquatic center on the grounds of Buford Middle School.
