In November, city staff presented City Council with a parking study and used it to justify the pursuit of a third parking garage Downtown.

But according to today’s Daily Progress, plans to build the new parking garage have been put on hold. “It’s just not at the top of the list at the moment,” said Ric Barrick, city spokesperson.

City staff pointed out that many of the developments that would have necessitated more parking may not come to fruition, though Councilor David Brown told the Progress that it is too early to predict what will happen in the city “development-wise.”
