A Barboursville company, Lam’s Lumber Company, owned and operated by T. Bradley Lam, has agreed to pay $70,000 in civil penalty charges for violating regulations to prevent, detect and control leaks in underground storage fuel tanks.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has settled the violations with Lam, but it also cited the company for, among other things, failing to provide tank release detection, test leak detectors and for failing to notify the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality when the tanks were initially installed.
