UVA Tight End Colter Phillips’ Father Killed in Alaskan Crash

Colter’s brother Willy is among the survivors of the flight that also killed former Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens.

UVA tight end Colter Phillips sadly lost his father in the same plane crash that killed former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens. Bill Phillips, an attorney and Washington lobbyist, and father of three Division-I football players, was among the passengers that crashed in the remote Alaskan wilderness on Monday.

Colter’s 13-year-old younger brother Willy Phillips survived the crash along with four other passengers.

Bill Phillips also played football at The University of Evansville in Indiana in the early seventies. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Phillips family during this very difficult time.
