Just over a year after the Downtown Hotdog Company opened in the belly of York Place, this sit-down eatery devoted to dressed-up dogs has closed. Owners Eric and Jenny Saunders, are planning a non-dog concept for the old Truckstop space in Ruckersville.

Bigger, better and wetter
Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton recently expanded—its patio, indoor seating, tasting bar, kitchen, food menu and beer selection are all bigger and better. And an events space for 65 people is now available.

Farm dinners
Hill & Holler, a new fundraising farm-based events planner, will host its first dinner on Sunday, October 9, at Blenheim Vineyards to benefit the UVA Food Collaborative. $75 gets you four wine-paired courses prepared by Chef Lee Gregory of Richmond’s The Roosevelt.
