The agenda includes public hearings for proposed easements for the Rivanna Pump Station and a vote to authorize the final design of the South and North Rivanna improvements, which will incorporate granular-activated charcoal thanks to pressure from the public to avoid the use of chloramines in water treatment.
- Albemarle County’s newest supervisors will be sworn in Thursday in a ceremony starting at 3pm in the upstairs lobby of the County Office Building on McIntire. The three new Democrats—Diantha McKeel, Liz Palmer, and Brad Sheffield—join Jane Dittmar, who won the Scottsville special election and was sworn in last month, and the two sitting reps, Ken Boyd and Ann Mallek. All city elected officials—including the newly elected Bob Fenwick—will be sworn in at noon Friday in the Charlottesville Circuit Court.
- The Charlottesville City Council holds a budget workshop meeting in City Hall’s basement conference room from 6-8pm Thursday.
