- The Albemarle County Historic Preservation Committee meets from 4:30-5:30pm Monday, December 23 in Conference Room 241 at the County Office Building on McIntire Road.
- The Pantops Community Advisory Council meets from 6-7:30pm Monday at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
- Holiday closures heads up: Albemarle County offices will be closed December 23-25 and January 1. The City of Charlottesville will close up December 24-25 and January 1.
- Christmas tree recycling starts soon in city and county. The annual curbside pickup and drop-off program yields hundreds of cubic yards of mulch annually, which the county Parks and Recreation Department offers free to the public. The county will man seven drop-off sites starting December 26: the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority Recycling Center on McIntire Road; Crozet Park in Crozet; Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood; Chris Greene Lake Park in Earlysville; Darden Towe Park on Elks Drive; Scottsville Community Center in Scottsville; and Walnut Creek Park off Old Lynchburg Road. Curbside pick up for city residents will be the week of January 6, 2014.
