Spring has sprung: Bands, booze, and banter at the McGuffey Block Party

Charlottesville’s Tom Tom Founders Festival kicked off its third year of music, art, and innovation events on Friday, April 11 at the McGuffey Block Party, which doubled as C-VILLE’s 25th birthday party. Entertainment ranged from a capella from the Hullabahoos to performances by fire dancers, and an audience of all ages spent the evening chowing down at food trucks, showing off their face paint, and sipping local craft beer. We joined the festivities, and asked several folks about their thoughts on springtime and the warm weather influx of festivals around town.

“When I was in ninth grade my dad took me to Vail, Colorado for spring break. It was just the two of us. I was so proud of my ’90s colorful Descente one piece ski suit and Oakley sunglasses.”
