What’s happening in Charlottesville-Albemarle the week of June 9

Each week, the news team takes a look at upcoming meetings and events in Charlottesville and Albemarle we think you should know about. Consider it a look into our datebook, and be sure to share newsworthy happenings in the comments section. 

  • The Crozet Community Advisory Council will hold a special meeting at 2pm Monday in Room 246 at the County Office Building on McIntire to discuss the redevelopment of the Barnes Lumber property with county staff.
  • The Charlottesville Planning Commission meets at 5:30pm Tuesday in Council chambers at City Hall.
  • The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors holds its board retreat from 9am-3pm Tuesday in the training room at the Monticello Fire Department, 25 Mill Creek Drive. The board gathers again at 3:30pm Wednesday in Room 241 at the County Office Building for a joint meeting with the county school board, followed by a 5pm work session on the Comprehensive Plan.
  • A representative from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will be in Charlottesville for the agency’s monthly visit at 5pm Thursday, June 12 at CitySpace.
  • The PLACE Design Task Force meets at noon on Thursday, June 12 in the Neighborhood Development conference room at City Hall.
