Charlottesville police have released a description of a man they say is a person of interest in the disappearance of UVA second-year Hannah Graham.
A witness identified the man as having contact Graham in the early hours of Saturday morning, September 13, shortly before she disappeared. According to a press release from police, the man is described as being a black male, roughly 5’10”, between 250 and 285 pounds with a slight “beer belly,” a close-shaved head, and a goatee. He is estimated to be in his early 20s or 30s, and was seen wearing black jeans and a white T-shirt.
The person of interest was reportedly seen with Graham in the 300-500 blocks of East Main Street on the Downtown Mall around 1am on Saturday.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information “leading to the cause of her disappearance,” according to a press release from the city. The city and UVA are each offering $10,000 with local individuals and businesses offering the rest.
Police are urging people to come forward and call their dedicated tip line (434-295-3851) with any information regarding Graham’s whereabouts.
