Easy like Sunday morning: Simple details let love shine

Eileen Sagini and Jamil Jadallah | May 1, 2016

Eileen played hard to get for a little over a year before agreeing to go on a date with Jamil. They had a great time. “I wasn’t surprised,” she says, “because I liked him even when I was avoiding him.” The couple were together six-and-a-half years before their spring wedding at Verulam Farm. Eileen was a bit more decisive on that front.

Knowing they both liked a simple aesthetic with an unexpected pop of color, she chose classic navy for the bridesmaids (Jamil’s sisters) and coral for a bright punch, which carried over into the bouquets. “I thought about all the colors I love during springtime and things started falling more and more into place,” Eileen says.

But her favorite detail is one she thought of spur-of-the-moment.

“Walking down the aisle with my dad, looking at all our guests and seeing Jamil standing at the front—it was very surreal. Jamil looked so handsome and sweet,” she says. “I didn’t want to start crying, so I did a little shimmy as I was walking up towards him. It got us all giggling and the jitters melted away.”
