Arts Pick: Lúnasa

“St. Patrick’s Day is much bigger in America than it is in Ireland,” say the members of Lúnasa, an Irish supergroup who take the stage on Wednesday, for what guitarist Ed Boyd calls “a good night’s entertainment.”

The group’s 20th anniversary tour is filled with stories and music, contemporary and traditional, in perfect preparation for the stateside honoring of all things Irish.“Coming to the United States from Ireland to tour in February and March has been a band tradition almost since its inception in 1996,” says frontman Kevin Crawford. ” It’s traditionally been very good for us…The show Lúnasa puts together for the U.S. tour is the one we work with for the rest of the year.”

Boyd credits Crawford’s emcee skills, calling him  “an absolutely brilliant frontman. He’s very funny, and very spontaneous. You never know what he’s going to say.”

Wednesday, March 15

$20-25. 7pm. The Haven, 112 W. Market St. 973-1234.
