It’s that time of year. The LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph announced its three featured artists for 2009. And the winners are: Gilles Peress, Martin Parr and Sylvia Plachy.
From June 11-13, work by the three artists will be featured in individual gallery exhibits. As in previous years, each artist will participate in live "INsight Conversations" at The Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall.
The fest’s "Masters Talks" will feature presentations by sports photographer Simon Bruty and portrait photographer Platon. Paolo Pellegrin will create a special outdoor show solely for LOOK3, and "TREES"—the nature-inspired, hallmark exhibition of the festival—will offer work by Tom Mangelsen.
As for the fest’s Workshops and Project Critique Sessions, the artist roster includes David Alan Harvey, James Nachtwey, Nina Berman, Larry Fink, Eugene Richards, Maggie Steber and Scott Thode.
