The run for City Sheriff has just gotten interesting. Local police officer James E. Brown, III announced his intention to run yesterday afternoon.
Brown graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1988 with an Advanced Studies Diploma and graduated from Longwood College in 1992 with a degree in Pre-law. He worked as Pretrial Background Investigator and Case Manager for Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR).
In a press release, Brown says his plans are to continue ensuring courtroom security and he plans to continue working with the elderly.
Current City Sheriff Cornelia Johnson announced her retirement earlier in the week.
