Dominique Wallace has left the Virginia football program. The talented tailback from Fredericksburg plans to remain enrolled at UVA, and does not plan to transfer. Last season he played well in his freshman campaign until he injured his foot against Southern Mississippi. This season he has played mostly on special teams, and he had not cracked the rotation at running back for Mike London’s Hoos.
Here is part of his statement today released by the Sports Information Department at UVA: “I feel this is what is best for me in regards to my academic interests,” Wallace said. “I do not plan on transferring to continue playing football at another school. My goal is to finish my undergraduate degree at UVa. I appreciate everything the coaching staff has done for me during my football career at Virginia.”
The Hoos are 1-1 on the young season and will play VMI Saturday at Scott Stadium starting at 1:30 on Saturday.
