What’s coming up the week of June 17?

Each week, the news team takes a look at upcoming meetings and events in Charlottesville and Albemarle we think you should know about. Consider it a look into our datebook, and be sure to share newsworthy happenings in the comments section.

  • The Charlottesville City Council meets at 7pm tonight—Monday—at City Hall. The Council is set to adopt the 2013 Comprehensive Plan, and will hear reports on parking fine waivers and the potential upcoming impacts of the Affordable Care Act.
  • The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board meets from 1-4pm Monday in the Community Development Board Room at the County Office Building on McIntire Road.
  • Charlottesville’s Board of Architectural Review meets at 5:30pm Tuesday in City Hall. Check out the meeting’s agenda here.
  • The Albemarle County Planning Commission gathers in Lane Auditorium at the County Office Building on McIntire at 6pm Tuesday. The meeting’s agenda hasn’t yet been posted on the Commission’s website, but we’ll update when it’s available.
  • The Albemarle County Service Authority meets from 9-11am Thursday at its offices at 168 Spotnap Road for a public hearing on its 2014 budget and rates. Visit the Service Authority’s website for details.
