What’s coming up in Charlottesville-Albemarle the week of October 21?

  • The Charlottesville City Council holds its second regular meeting of the month at 7pm tonight, October 21, in Council Chambers at City Hall. The agenda includes a report on the future of the City Market.
  • Two more candidates’ forums are scheduled for this week. The first, set for 6pm Tuesday at Jack Jouett Middle School, is for the two independent candidates running for the Jack Jouett seat on the Albemarle Board of Supervisors, Diantha McKeel and Phillip Seay. Charlottesville School Board candidates Juandiego Wade, Edmund R. “Ned” Michie, and Leah Puryear will gather at 6pm Wednesday at Johnson Elementary for a forum co-hosted by Charlottesville Tomorrow and the League of Women Voters.
  • The next public hearing on the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Long-Range Transportation Plan takes place from 5-7pm Wednesday at the Water Street Center.
  • The next Our Town Charlottesville town hall meeting, this time focused on the Rose Hill and Kelly Town neighborhoods, is scheduled for 6-8pm Thursday at Burley Middle School.
