What’s happening in Charlottesville-Albemarle the week of December 9?

  • Both Charlottesville City schools and Albemarle County schools are operating on a two-hour delay this morning, Monday, December 9. County school employees are to report on time. Also on a two-hour delay: Fluvanna, Orange, Buckingham, St. Anne’s, Charlottesville Catholic School, Charlottesville Waldorf School, PVCC. Covenant will open at 10am. Closed Monday: Greene, Culpeper, Nelson.
  • The Charlottesville City Council work session scheduled for this evening, Monday, December 9, has been postponed. No date has yet been set for the rescheduled meeting.
  • The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will hold a work session from 4-5:30pm Wednesday, December 11 at the County Office Building on McIntire Road. A regular meeting will follow from 6-11pm, which includes a slew of public hearings on rezoning requests and proffer plans for developments, including Avon Park II, The Lofts at Meadowcreek, Hollymead Town Center, North Pointe, and Pantops Corner.
  • The Charlottesville City School Board meets from 5-6:30pm Thursday, December 12.
  • The Our Town Charlottesville town hall meeting for the 10th and Page neighborhood will be held from 6-8pm Thursday. The location has yet to be announced.
