Police are searching for a missing UVA second-year who went missing late Friday night.
According to news releases from UVA and the Charlottesville Police Department, Hannah Elizabeth Graham, 18, was last heard from in the early hours of Saturday morning. She’s described as approximately 5’11” tall and slender, with blue eyes, light brown hair, and freckles. She was last seen wearing a black crop top with mesh cut-outs.
Charlottesville police say she was last heard from between midnight and 1am, but according to a site set up by the University, her last contact was with friends via a text message at 1:20am. Police said that an emergency call wasn’t made until Sunday, when friends and family finally realized that Graham hadn’t been seen or heard from since Friday night.
As of Monday at midday, police have been unable to provide any further details about the circumstances of her disappearance, but unconfirmed details are circulating via e-mail and social media. According to an e-mail that originated with a family member of a UVA student and has been forwarded to at least one University community listserv, Graham, who was reportedly a member of the University’s ski team, was with fellow team members until about 11:30pm Friday night, when she headed to a fraternity party with a friend. A Facebook post making the rounds on Monday says Graham left Camden Plaza—a student housing complex on 14th Street NW—at around 11:50pm Friday.
Police say a search with a bloodhound dog was conducted Sunday, but did not turn up anything useful.
Anyone has any information or has seen Graham starting Friday night is asked to call the Charlottesville Police Department at 434-970-3280.
