UPDATE: UVA Corner murder suspect turns himself in

Darryl Andre Johnson, 20, accused of shooting and killing a man on the UVA Corner on Saturday morning, turned himself in to Charlottesville Police, NBC29 reports.

Darryl Andre Johnson, 20, accused of shooting and killing a man on the UVA Corner on Saturday morning, turned himself in to Charlottesville Police, NBC29 reports.

As C-VILLE previously reported, Johnson fled the scene after he allegedly shot and killed 22-year-old Phillip E. Adams, Jr. of Charlottesville.

According to a police press release, the two were attending a party on the second floor of Pacino’s Deli, at 1329 West Main Street, when Adams became involved in a confrontation with Johnson.

Three other persons were also injured, but their injuries were not life threatening.
Johnson is charged with murder, malicious wounding, two counts of use of firearm in the commission of a felony. NBC29 reports that he is being held at Albemarle/Charlottesville Regional Jail.
