Think you’ve got the goods? C-VILLE is seeking Charlottesville- and Albemarle-based makers in the following categories for our first-ever Made in C-VILLE contest:
Home & Craft
Furniture, pottery, gadgets—if you find it at home (inside or out!), it belongs in this category. [Editor’s note: This isn’t an art contest, so please no fine art entries! We’re looking for items you use, not just admire.]
Style
From textiles to jewelry, this category is for personal adornment in all its many forms.
Food & Drink
Can you drink it? Can you eat it? (This category is fairly self-explanatory, no?)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_zigzag color=”sky” el_border_width=”10″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
TO ENTER:
Fill out the form below. If your item is smaller than a breadbox, please also drop off a sample at the C-VILLE Weekly office (308 E. Main St. on the Downtown Mall) no later than Monday, October 23.
MORE RULES:
The Made in C-VILLE contest recognizes local manufacturers or producers of outstanding goods (hobbyists need not apply!). To be eligible, the item must be made in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area (including surrounding counties) and fit into one of the following three categories: Home & Craft, Food & Drink, Style.
All entries must be received by 5pm on Friday, October 20. If your item is smaller than a breadbox, please bring a physical sample to the C-VILLE Weekly office (308 E. Main St. on the Downtown Mall) in addition to completing the online entry form. Items will be available for pickup on Tuesday, October 31 for one week (otherwise, thanks in advance for the loot!). Edible entries will not be returned. [Note: If edible entries are perishable, please drop them off as close to the October 20 deadline as possible so as to preserve freshness for judging.]
Winners, runners-up and honorable mentions will be selected by one judge in each category on the basis of craftsmanship, aesthetics and innovation.
Entering this competition is an agreement that you are ready, willing and able to participate in interviews, photography and videography for the Made in C-VILLE issue, on stands Wednesday, November 22. Questions? E-mail caite@c-ville.com.
