The play had a contemporary setting when it opened on Broadway in 1971, went on to win seven Tony Awards, and ran for more than 500 performances. This National Theatre revival (via live broadcast) casts Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton as the magnificent Follies.
