WaPo is totally crushing on us

We’re beginning to wonder if the Washington Post plans to open a satellite office in our cozy little ‘ville because, as frequently as they’ve written about our food and coffee, it might save reporters some money on gas.

We’re beginning to wonder if the Washington Post plans to open a satellite office in our cozy little ‘ville because, as frequently as they’ve written about our food and coffee, it might save reporters some money on gas. Of course, the Post’s reputable reporting staff prefers to do things their way. And if that means spending $500 on accomodations at Keswick Hall, then so be it.

K.C. Summers’ account of an overnight stay at the mansion and resulting glut of bicycle rides, lobster bisque and Blenheim chardonnay—what, instead of Cardinal Point’s 2008 viognier?—will run in Sunday’s Travel section, but you can see it on the Post’s website now. The highlight? Summers’ description of a young waiter so concerned for his guests that Summers and companion agreed to him fetching a pair of chaise lounges, "if only to put him out of his misery."

We like big bucks and we cannot lie: The Washington Post treats itself to a night at Keswick.
