Bowman’s previous gig was director for the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate, the 19th century Delaware home of horticulturist Henry Francis du Pont. And while this is certainly a step up in profile for Bowman (on the grounds that the Constitution of the United States of America trumps plants), what does this mean for the TJ Foundation, which owns and oversees Jefferson’s former home? We’ll find out come November, but history nuts can start speculating now!

From du Pont to the Mont: The Thomas Jefferson Foundation has appointed Leslie Green Bowman as its next president.
