Nothing helps a music fan mellow out after an election likes Kings of Belmont in drag

Sure, the Neil Young song referenced in the post title may seem like a fitting election anthem—have you added to our playlist yet?—but after the collective anxiety attack of a Presidential election, it feels good to let your hair down with some tunes. And put on lipstick. And a dress. Ironically.

Last Friday’s Rocktoberfest, sponsored in part by C-VILLE, brought the sort of energy that only the week prior to an election can bring, and did it in ridiculous costumes. Here, some footage of sets by local acts Gunchux, Travis Elliott Band and some fellows that call themselves "Queens of Belmont":

Let’s hear some more Halloween rock stories, because there were plenty of events I didn’t catch. (Though I did make it to Mass Sabbath, where my costume was mistaken for Napoleon Dynamite and Danny Shea of Starr Hill Presents.)
