Hurt beats Perriello in third quarter fundraising totals

Fifth District incumbent raised $810,000 in third quarter, compared to challenger’s $900,000, but reports $1.3 million on-hand

This afternoon, Democratic Congressman Tom Perriello’s reelection campaign announced a quarterly fundraising total of $810,000—compared to Republican challenger Robert Hurt’s $900,000 third quarter total. Perriello reportedly has $1.3 million on hand. As of the last quarterly filings, the Hurt campaign reported $215,954 on hand; that number has not been updated in recent reports. The Federal Election Commission posts fundraising totals for the third quarter on Friday, October 15.
