Allen, Radtke lag behind Kaine in quarterly funds raised

Allen, the former senator and GOP contender for Jim Webb’s U.S. Senate seat, raised over $1.1 million between April and June

Former senator George Allen, the Republican Party candidate for Democrat Jim Webb’s U.S. Senate seat, raised over $1.1 million between April and June this year, according to a statement from his campaign. That quarterly total, however, represents roughly half the funds raised by his Democratic challenger, former Virginia governor Tim Kaine. Allen’s campaign reports that 82 percent of funds raised are contributions from Virginians, and that more than 5,000 donors have contributed upwards of $2.6 million to Allen’s campaign since he announced his candidacy.

Tea Party candidate Jamie Radtke announced a quarterly fundraising total of more than $92,000, and a total pool of nearly $250,000. "To date, all of Radtke’s contributions come from individuals," according to Radtke’s campaign. "None of the funds are from PACs, special interest groups or personal loans from the candidate."

GOP candidate Tim Donner raised $206,000 since he announced his candidacy, but the majority of that money was self-financed.
