A very Tom Tom weekend: What not to miss during the festival’s busiest days

The third annual Tom Tom Founders Festival is in full swing, and the city’s headed into a busy weekend of talks, music, and food.

The Saturday and Sunday schedules in particular are busy enough to be a little overwhelming, so check out our recent feature story on the festival here—it includes a short list of events we at C-VILLE thought deserved a don’t-miss mention. (The whole rundown of events is available on the festival website.)

For more day-by-day guidance, look to the bright young things at HackCville Media, the online news outlet that’s grown out of a UVA-centric innovation group near Grounds (read about them here). The students running the site are posting daily recaps and previews. You can also check out their 2-minute video guide to their own top event picks, and their video interview with festival founder Paul Beyer and innovation experts at UVA, which has played a big role in the growth and development of Tom Tom since 2012.

And one shameless plug: Tonight’s block party at the McGuffey is in part a C-VILLE birthday celebration, so come have a beer with us and toast to the paper’s 25 years in Charlottesville. Other reasons to show up? A New Belgian beer garden and hip-hop performances. The good times start at 5pm. See you there!
