After a November split with her former manager, Billboard reports that Faith Hill signed with Coran Capshaw’s locally founded music agency, Red Light Management. In April, Feedback reported that Hill’s husband, country singer Tim McGraw, signed with Red Light—which means that Capshaw’s management team now supervises a pair that grossed $142 million for its 2006/2007 "Soul2Soul" tour.
Two quick observations:
1. Throw in Big Kenny (of Big & Rich, also the author of songs for musicians including McGraw), Drive-By Truckers and local band Sons of Bill, and it seems as if Red Light is becoming quite the destination for country bands.
2. I thought the first response in our office would be a George Michael pun, and I still plan on making the same joke in the video below. But the prize for best pun goes to a colleague who bucked the obvious and made a McGraw-Hill publishing joke.
