In November, the Albemarle County Democratic Party helped their candidates ensure a three-vote block on the Board of Supervisors. Now, it needs to ensure its own vitality going into 2012 and beyond.

On Monday, January 9, the Albemarle Dems will elect its next party leaders. "All positions are two-year terms and will work to elect our candidates in the 2012 Presidential, Senate, and Congressional elections, and the 2013 elections for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, House of Delegates, and Board of Supervisors."

The Democratic Party is also assessing its performance in the November elections—a Scottsville victory and Rivanna loss, along with a failure to challenge longtime incumbent Rob Bell, and easy wins for delegate Connie Brennan and Commonwealth’s Attorney Denise Lunsford. Accordingly, Albemarle Dems posted a performance survey on its website, which you can find here.
