Fresh this morning, news that combines two of our favorite things: bowling and little kids. Add good-doing, and it’s a trifecta of wonderfulness. Albemarle County reports that some $11,000 will go to the school’s Bright Stars and Family Support programs. Aimed at low-income kids in pre-school and the lower grades, the programs provide support and enrichment classes after school, in a classic ounce-of-prevention formula. Thanks to the efforts of 70 teams around the area that participated in the Albemarle County Rotary Club Bowl-a-Thon, a few more kids be able to participate. Bowling alone? Not in these parts.
