23rd Annual Youth Film Festival

Take a seat in front of the silver screen for Light House Studio’s 23rd Annual Youth Film Festival. Student films created over the last year through Light House’s workshops, community partnerships, and Summer Film Academy are highlighted at the YFF, giving attendees a chance to see the public debuts of projects before they screen in the national film festival circuit. With 23 acceptances and nine awards already conferred to Light House Studio productions for the 2023-24 festival season, this show should get two thumbs way up.

ARTS Pick: Light House Studio Youth Film Festival

Over the course of the past year, Light House Studio has engaged more than 1,700 students to produce 400 films ranging from animation and visual effects to documentary, narrative storytelling, and music video. The 17th Annual Youth Film Festival gives viewers a peek at the latest productions before they are proffered to the festival circuit.

ARTS Pick: Annual Youth Film Festival

Put a child in front of a camera and you might end up with a candid moment that’s viral-worthy and gets grandma tapping on her smartphone. Put kids on both sides of the camera and you’ll gain unique perspectives on society, community and family at Light House Studio’s Annual Youth Film Festival. The film center teaches filmmaking and gives youngsters access to showcases such as the LA Film Festival and far reaching outlets like PBS, CNN and IFC. Past Light House movies have received national awards, including a Peabody, a Gold World Medal at the New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards and a CINE Golden Eagle.
